BAD AXE The Bad Axe City Council has started the process of updating the city’s Park and Recreation Plan. The topic came up during a recent council meeting as members discussed long-term planning for local parks.
Officials said the plan helps the city keep track of what needs attention, what could be improved, and what residents want to see in the future.
Why the Plan Needs to Be Updated
City leaders explained that the Park and Recreation Plan must be updated regularly. Without an updated plan, the city would not qualify for certain grants that help pay for park improvements.
Council members said the plan does not promise new projects right away. Instead, it keeps the city prepared when funding opportunities come up.
