BLUMFIELD TOWNSHIP The Blumfield Township Board of Trustees approved a new road project at their recent meeting, giving the green light to replace a tube on Reimer Road. The estimated cost for the project is $22,000.
During the meeting, board members also voted to dissolve the Road Advisory Committee. Township officials explained that the committee is no longer needed since road funding now comes from the county millage, not a separate township millage.
Officials reminded residents that property tax payments are due by Feb. 17. They also shared information for residents about severe weather updates regarding trash pickup. Those updates can be found on NBC25, WEYI25, Fox 66, or on the Mid-Michigan Waste Authority’s Facebook page.
The Reimer Road project is expected to improve drainage and prevent future road damage. Residents in the area said they are pleased with the township’s efforts to maintain roads and keep the community safe.
The board did not announce a specific timeline for the tube replacement, but officials said details will be shared once contractors are selected and schedules are finalized. Residents are advised to watch for potential temporary road closures during construction.
