A Huron County man was taken into custody late last weekend after law enforcement located him at a Bad Axe residence and served a felony arrest warrant issued for his arrest. The warrant was connected to a failure to appear in court, according to a release from the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies went to the home on December 20th, responding to information that the suspect was at the property. When deputies arrived, they were initially met by a woman who indicated the man was not present. However, as deputies continued their check, voices were heard coming from a nearby shed on the property.
Deputies Find Suspect Inside Hidden Space
After knocking and calling for the man to come out, deputies located him lying on a bed inside the shed. He was informed that he was under arrest on the outstanding felony warrant, which stemmed from failing to appear before the court as required.
Officers searched him and found no contraband before placing him in handcuffs. He was then transported to the Huron County Jail and turned over to corrections staff without further incident just hours after deputies first made contact.

Felony warrants are issued when a person fails to show up for required court dates, and deputies take their enforcement seriously because unchecked warrants can pose risks to both public safety and the court system. In this case, officers followed standard procedures to locate and safely arrest the individual without escalation.
