BAD AXE A planned emergency exercise at Bad Axe High School on Monday will give staff and students a chance to practice safety procedures. School officials say the exercise has been scheduled ahead of time and is not connected to any real emergency.
Administrators shared the information so parents and the community are aware of what to expect.
What Will Happen During the Exercise
The exercise may cause short interruptions during the school day. Teachers and staff have already been notified and will guide students as needed. Officials said the focus is on practicing communication and response steps in a calm setting.
People nearby may see emergency vehicles around the school during the exercise.
Emergency Responders Will Participate
Local emergency responders are expected to be involved in the drill. School officials said working directly with first responders helps everyone better understand their roles if a real situation were to happen.
These types of exercises are reviewed afterward to see what worked well and what can be improved.
Safety Remains a Priority
School leaders said the main goal of the exercise is preparedness. Practicing procedures ahead of time helps reduce confusion and improves response during real emergencies.
Parents are encouraged to speak with students before Monday and explain that the exercise is only a drill.
Other Local Government Activity
